Offsite construction offers an effective and rapid answer to the need to provide environmentally and socially sustainable housing to those who need it. The good news is that a community of companies, designers, developers, administrations and researchers ready to take up the challenge already exists. Over 90 innovative players have gathered around Offsite Hub Italia to develop an Italian market for industrialized renovation and new construction able to reduce the time and costs of interventions. And results are not lacking: with offsite it is possible to renovate entire apartment blocks with time reductions ranging from 40% to 60%, intervention costs already comparable to traditional methods, and prospects of savings of up to 15% by aggregating small, homogeneous volumes. By then combining a seismic retrofit with an energy efficiency intervention, offsite can produce savings of up to 30%.

The Renovation Days by EDERA – Offsite Hub return to Milan, the event that puts building innovation and the people driving it into reality at the centre stage, now in its fourth edition.
The appointment is set for Wednesday, October 21 at BASE Milano and will carry the title "The Italian Offsite for the Housing Challenge".
Over the past year, the topic of Housing, accessible and sustainable for all, has established itself in the Italian and European institutional debate. But awareness has also grown that it is necessary to invest in new processes and paradigms that put the construction sector in a position to face the urgency of the housing crisis and the climate crisis, within the little time and with the insufficient resources we have available.
