ReNovA: Integrated Solutions for the Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings
The public sector plays a key role in driving the energy transition, particularly in the renovation of public buildings to achieve nearly zero-energy building (nZEB) or zero-emission building (ZEB) standards, as required by the European Green Deal and the REPowerEU plan. However, small and medium-sized municipalities often lack the financial and technical resources needed to develop and implement large-scale building asset transformation plans and renovation projects.

The ReNovA Public Buildings Renovation Hub aims to address these challenges by establishing a comprehensive network of local one-stop shops that provide services capable of coordinating the efforts of various partners in support of public authorities.
Its main objectives include developing a methodology for staff training, optimizing authorization procedures, and providing financial, technical, and legal guidelines, offering a complete package to public administrations. An operational procedure will also be developed to be replicated by other entities, with the support of local organizations already connected to the territory.
The project also promotes prefabricated and standardized solutions, such as those already supported by existing networks like Energiesprong.
By addressing organizational and technical barriers through a top-down approach, the project aims to aggregate the building assets of multiple small entities, facilitating broad replication and contributing to the achievement of the ambitious energy efficiency targets set by European directives
