Cesare Paulin

Cesare is a physicist who graduated cum laude from the University of Milan with a thesis on stabilization electronics for an X-ray free-electron laser source. His path has led from the lab to data and back again. In Amsterdam, at AMOLF, he fabricated nanoscale silicon devices in a cleanroom for quantum optics experiments. At the Politecnico di Milano he built the prototype of an absorption heat pump and took part in the certification tests of the steam generator for a small modular nuclear reactor. On the data side, he developed computer vision systems to monitor wear on high-speed trains and risk models for personal finance. At Tecnomat (Adeo Group) he worked alongside the FP&A team to support strategic financial decisions, designed an algorithm to reduce false positives in out-of-stock detection, which was later adopted by Adeo worldwide, and worked on demand forecasting and on assistants based on language models. He speaks Chinese, which he learned during a year of high school in Taiwan, and he spent several months working on regenerative agriculture farms.

At EDERA he is Lead AI & Data Scientist: he is responsible for building the data function and developing AI models and tools to support EnergieSprong Italia and Offsite Hub.
