Deep retrofitting, an appointment in Lyon

On 24 June, an important international event will take place bringing together EDERA, EnergieSprong and two Life projects funded by the European Commission: Street HP Reno and Cosme Reno, of which EDERA is the coordinator.

The event is in France, in Lyon, and will open with a visit to the EnergieSprong retrofitting project in Vaulx-en-Velin, where nearly 1,000 social housing units have been renovated by Est Métropole Habitat. This is the first French EnergieSprong project, carried out on 9 buildings constructed in the 1970s in just 19 months, thanks to 42% prefabricated facades. This approach enabled the thermal insulation of the apartments, optimising timescales and minimising disruption for residents. In the afternoon, an open event will bring together the main actors across the entire construction value chain: companies, owners, local authorities, financiers, engineering firms, European partners and all those who wish to contribute to the transformation of the sector.

How can we accelerate deep retrofitting at scale? How can we improve dialogue between the different actors to scale up projects and foster the emergence of new models?

On the programme: workshops, experience sharing and discussions to identify the levers of cooperation that will accelerate high-performance renovation, from individual buildings to entire neighbourhoods.

The event will also present resources, tools and training courses from various European projects and initiatives in the sector, including the Street HP Reno and Cosme Reno projects, of which EDERA is the coordinator.

Topics to be addressed range from prefabrication and industrialisation (Prefablab), to training on urban retrofitting, off-site processes and Lean tools, energy modules and technical solutions, financial levers for scaling up projects, through to group procurement.

The day will close with a networking aperitivo.
